Start by arranging an appointment by calling your local representative. If you already can picture the perfect coverings for you window, like our Polywood® plantation shutter, then we will make a special note to bring you some options available for your preferred product. We will also bring additional treatments, so you can feel confident that your windows match your ideas.

During the actual appointment, we’ll sit down and figure out what you are looking for in a window treatment. We’ll spefically ask about your lighting, privacy, and energy efficiency ideas, and we’ll ask about hard-to-reach or specialty-shaped windows. Your rep will also ask about how the room is used and what aesthetic you are trying to attain. The final objective is to fully envision what your decor will ultimately look like with the treatments installed.

You may have to see many different window treatments and contrast each style against each other. Signs Of A Poor In-Home Shutter Consultation

While we are sure that Sunburst will perform compentent in-home consultation, there are some actions you should never see from any window treatment rep. It should go without saying, the quality of your sales representative mirrors the quality of the window treatments.

First, your consultant should be careful and professional. They should show up as scheduled, with all samples requested, and offer to cover their shoes with shoe booties. Your consultant should always have product and company brochures and pricing details.

In regards to pricing, you should expect a full written quote. Don’t accept a vague guess, scribbled on a scrap piece of paper or the back of a business card. And never accept a quote if they won’t measure your windows. You want to know how much you should pay and why. It’s also a good idea to to search for references and online reviews.
