Polywood® shutters are not only a completely recyclable shutter, but they also contain up to 20% recycled Polywood content. We’re the only shutter company in Houston or even the US that does that.
Sunburst supports green products, designs, and buildings. We reuse materials whenever we can. We recycle water used to cool parts as they’re finished in the ovens. We reuse packaging supplies. We reuse shutter fragments – or regrind them and turn them into new shutters. We end up recycling hundreds of tons of materials every year.
When we prepare our window treatments to be transported to your residence for installation, we place reusable corner pieces on the sides of the louvers and use the least amount of cardboard to package the shutters.
The patented paint finishes we adhere to your plantation shutters are environmentally safe – and are even below the standard volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions allowed. In our manufacturing process, our paints don’t emit fumes. We mean it when we claim our paints are safe.
Polywood Shutters don’t emit harmful gasses – so you and your household can relax and savor your window treatments.
The Only Shutter Recycling Program in Houston, TX
If you ever desire to switch out your window treatment styles, we offer a shutter recycling program in Houston to keep Polywood shutters out of landfills. All you have to do is remove the shutters on your own, and contact our store manager at 713-853-9629 to arrange a pick-up. We will pick up your shutters and reuse some part of them in future Polywood shutters. This applies to Polywood shutters only—we don’t recycle other shutter brands.
This way, you can recycle Polywood shutters at no cost to you. And, together, we’re aiding in keeping the environment green in Houston.
