Check Out Spring 2017s Share Your Shutters Winner

Cory Cryer

Spring is blowing by here in Houston, but don’t think we forgot about our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest. Spring’s contest winner is Tonya S., who shared a few photos of her home that truly capture what shutters can do for a room.

closed shutters in dining room

Tonya’s space features some stunning new Polywood® plantation shutters in her dining room. Since the shutters are closed, you can really get a look at how much control plantation shutters really give you over your lighting. Envision that dining room with some softer lighting; it would be the perfect setting for a personal candlelit dinner, right? With plantation shutters in your home like Tonya has, you can express the mood you want no matter the time of day.

Take a look at how the white shutters flawlessly match the white trim on the baseboard as well as the white ceiling. Those matching whites let the black table and the wood floor’s natural color stand out even more.

That wasn’t Tonya’s only photo submission, however. She also shared a photo of her brand-new sliding barn door shutter!

There are a few reasons we love this barn door shutter. First off, it looks fantastic. The homegrown look of the wood panel with that smooth jet black hardware up top give a timeless yet relaxed look. What we like even more than the shutters’ looks is how practical it is. The barn door shutter sits on top of the window frame, so it can effectively block light while still letting the window operate.

Since her shutter sits on the front the frame, Tonya can still use that deep window jamb, too. As an example, if she wanted to set some flowers on the sill to get sunlight, she could even close the shutter to let it catch some rays while still blocking sun glare from outside.

Tonya tells us that this is the third time they’ve had Sunburst install window treatments for her home, and we want to thank her for her continued support in choosing us for all her shutter needs. For winning our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest, Tonya received a $100 gift card to a restaurant in her area.

If you want to get your shutters featured on our next Share Your Shutters contest, we want to see them! Share a photo of your favorite room with shutters with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or post a photo on our Facebook page. We’d love to show off some shutters from a Texan next time!

Or if looking at Tonya’s home makes you feel like your space is missing a little something, we want to help. Call 713-853-9629 today to talk to one of Sunburst Shutters Houston’s window design experts to get started.
